Someone Else's Break

Someone Else’s Break

Verse 1:

If I told you that I love you, what would you even say?

Would you hold me close and whisper, “Finally,” or would you walk away?

Don’t wanna take the risk of hurting, but what if you feel the same?

If I protect my heart, would someone else’s break?

Verse 2:

I’m not the type to be the boldest; I stand in back, it seems.

Then I threw my heart right out to you, but pulled it back quickly.

Taking care of just myself, but it might be a mistake.

If I protect my heart, would someone else’s break?

And I don’t wanna hurt you, or miss an opportunity.

Who should I look out for, you or me?

Chorus:

I followed my head from the start, maybe it’s time to follow my heart,

But I’m wondering if that’s a chance I’d wanna take.

I could take the easiest way out, but you smile at me and I wonder now,

If I protect my heart, would someone else’s break?

Verse 3:

If springtime comes and the winds are whistling, you could hear me play.

Would they be songs of all I’m missing or chances gone to waste?

If I’m singing all that I have lost, I don’t wanna list your name.

If I protect my heart, it’s still not safe. Without you, its still bound to break.

Chorus 2:

I followed my head from the start, maybe it’s time to follow my heart,

And I’m thinking that’s a chance I’ll wanna take.

I won’t take the easiest way out, ‘cause you smile at me and I promise now,

I’ll protect your heart, and I won’t let it break.

With me, with me it’ll be safe.

If I protect my heart, would someone else’s break?
