Solar Dance
Too bright
Too powerful
Her breath of morning,
Draws me in
Her earthy glow of noon,
Excites the melanin in my skin
Plants salivate at her flux of energy
Reaching their arms high
Grasping at her ribbons
A whirl of plasma, never to subside
Still,
I cannot kick my habit
And sober myself
So she swings to watch
My drunken step
Her hands still guiding
Through my disillusionment
I’m glad I didn’t take her for granted.
