Society's Path

Fri, 05/05/2017 - 05:44 -- RoldanB

Traffic lights stay at a steady red

     Reflecting on life's motion

Dropping down what I see with lead

Depicting the faces of no emotion

Running down an endless path

Shades of black color the pavement

Teens running around

     Babies coming and no payment

Alcoholic beverage ads

     Replacing the image of education

Get drunk, party, and laugh

Takes the prime form of communication

Problems piling on one another

     Forming the path of misfortune

Bombs dropping over the other

While the numbers rise in abortion

Cop shootings and racial prevalence

     Industry hits with no meaning

Justice for the wrong even with evidence

A deserted land of people with no feeling

Women abused and men praised

A fallacy that takes a toll on many people

Why can't we all be acclaimed the same

Since this country was built for us to be equal.
