Social Casualties

Alluded into an enlarged adult fantasy

Bound by a hiccup in our society

Choking, gargling, screaming as we are changed by

The chains and will never be the same

Bankrupt in Hope

Belittled by lies

Sinned by sinners

Buried by beginners

Screaming out names in hopes of change

brought by pain that ends

with the same mumbling name

Sanity

They said we wouldn’t cry ourselves to sleep

They said that we wouldn’t have to feel the pain of the air escaping our lungs because it doesn’t feel like we deserve it

They said we wouldn’t understand the pain of being beaten until we bled

They said we don’t understand what it’s like to be an adult

They said to just bite the bullet and do as we’re told

They said… We said STOP!

Fear is real

Real enough to bury us by too many beats of the bitten bullet

Real enough to rattle our bones

Real enough to create monsters and I’m not talking

about the ones that fill body bags

I’m talking about the ones that leave you speechless and leave you with the realization that you are straddling on the cliff to

Your own death

And screaming isn’t an option

Why?

We are bankrupt in Hope

Belittled by lies

Sinned by sinners

Buried by beginners

You’ve taken our innocence, taken our chance to live as a child with your twisted romance

Forced to put up a mask

Never talking about what happened in the past

Forced to stay quiet

And keep in the pain but deep down inside

Going insane

Wishing, praying for it all to go away

And everything go back to being the same

In between the lines

She said, bankrupt in hope

I’m breaking

Because I’m changed by the chains and will never be the same
