Social Anxiety

Tue, 10/21/2014 - 20:51 -- bre543

My heart beats fast; My breathing is labored
My feet shuffle quickly; My gaze never wavers
My book in my hands; My destination in sight
My anxiety is there but; My chin is held high
My usual reading spot; My usual company
My demeanor aloof; Myself, I, and me
My friends search; My alone time private
My actions designated dry; My detachment won’t quit
My solitude lonely; My attitude cools
My acceptance grows; My isolation rules
My thoughts darken; My emotions sad
My mind searches; My thinking bad
My frequented couch; My head angled down
My eyes look nowhere; My hope not to be found
My breathing stable; My wish fulfilled
My fear unreasoned; My solitude willed
