Snow Sonnet

A Winter Within

The winter brings its coarse face

With unforgiving wind that bites my cheeks

A cold too malicious to be embraced

The winter is real; it talks, it speaks

Dwelling on the bare bones under my armor of skin

Trying hard to not be buried underneath

A coat cannot contain the blizzard within

My sword of truth is frozen, stuck in its sheath

But how can I resent a season so vital to life?

An intrinsic belonging I can no longer deny

A solstice so cold but I am no longer numb

A cycle of the seasons that must go on

How can the coldest season be so warm?

And touch organs to unfreeze the youth, reborn?
