Smiling

What’s wrong with me?

It’s not that big of a deal

People interact with strangers daily

Just make a joke and smile

It works almost all the time

They won’t know you’re scared

Right?

Yikes.

Run!

Breathe now, you forgot

It’s time to take on the next task

Performing on the stage

You’re dream in life

If you focus and smile

They won’t see the shakes

Right?

Oops.

Help!

Don’t dally in weakness

It’s all in your head

Find some inner strength

To alleviate your dread

Brace up and smile

They don’t wanna see your pain

Right?

No.

Ow!

It seems I’ll always be here

Swinging on a pendulum

Taking risks and feeling fear

Discomfort every time

At least I try to smile

They help make sure I grow

Right?

Hmmm.

Yes!
