Smiles

Fri, 04/11/2014 - 23:12 -- RC

Life is in the details.
In small flutters of time,
Where true life briefly prevails.

Life is in a smile.
The truest sign of joy,
Understood in every domicile.

I would give life a new shape
For myself, my community, the world
With just a small escape.

Escape from horror,
Away from fear and grief
And into a world happy once more.

If only for a moment,
We could forget our trouble
And have something to give us contentment.

If there were anything I could give,
I would give a smile,
And help us all truly learn to live.
