A Small Voice

There is a small voice

That lives deep in my heart

Whispering for me to

Hold on

Stay strong

Move along

Let bygones, you know.

Whispering for me to

Forgive and forget

Live without regret

Not be scared to break a sweat.

Whispering for me to

Give my all

Never start small

Always try to stand tall.

Mostly the voice just whispers clichés.

I love it though

Because the voice is mine.

It’s obnoxious

And it talks too much

But it keeps me smiling

And it provides the strength to laugh

That my friends admire.

Problems, stress, things that go wrong,

Nothing stays bad forever

Because I have a little voice whispering

It gets better.
