You cannot simply

tell me to get over someone I love. 

It's not something that can be stopped all at once.

That's like telling the earth to stop

revolving the sun

or telling the ocean waves to stop hitting the shore

It's natural, inevitable 

and it simply cannot be stopped

just because it was told to.
