Why do we have hearts?

What are they needed for?

Why do we have hearts?

For people to tear them apart; 

a piece for the family, 

a piece for the friends.

The last one to my love,

whose love was thought to never end. 

Why do we have hearts? 

For them to be broken? 

They should be cherished

like solid-gold tokens.

We love, we see, we listen,

all with our hearts. 

But there will be someone, 

someone that will have the glue. 

And that someone will

be oh so true. 

So, you see, our hearts can be

put back together and unbroken, 

so the little man inside of us all
