Sleep My Dear Friend, Rest Your Eyes

Not long ago we were friends,

But now I need to send you to the ground.

The bitter anguish that swallows my soul,

Good god,

This body of mine.

Trapped in time.

Trying to figure out a better rhyme

So I can save you,

In that fleeting moment of time.

You hit the pavement,

That was a horrible day since.

The first friend,

The first smile,

Yeah, we didn't hang much

Because you played the gang life.

I was on the opposite side with the scholastic mind type.

In hind sight,

I should have signed up

With straight line up

To give your eulogy.

But I was buried in books,

Half cooked,

Words and terms swirled in my head like a good pupil,

Who new how to through a good hook,

But was still shook because his friend was at a wrong end,

And he was to late save him.

Belay my last,

I was playing about the gang life,

You weren't into that stuff,

Because you were passive,

Relaxive, peaceful, as the casket you lay in.

It's hard to see

But between the lines of our lives

We fail realize

You had a hard life with lots of strife.

The frauds and fools will talk bad

About a young lad,

Who didn't get to live life

But that's not it.

We never stayed in touch

And that was a bad.

I wanna stand up and man up

Cause you smiled ever day to show me that.

You were the first to make me better.

So I'll write in your name.

To be better.

To save another's laughter

Happiness,

Humanity,

And Life.

That's what you taught me.

Rest In Peace,

Dear Friend of mine.
