Slave Mind

Gang Gang

Bang this

Young man in jail for criminal intent

I don't mean to be rude but please let me vent

It happened too many times and it's not making sense

Maybe because of the color of his skin

That police are treating him as one of the seven deadly sins

Even if the man didn't commit anything, he's still going to jail for everything

And this is not surprising

We saw this years ago from a man named Rodney King

L.A tried to beat him into silence

What came next was like an outbreak no no more like a riot

The city and streets stood against the police in defiance

And even after all of that justice was never served

Which led many young black children to believe that their melanin was a curse

With a spell having them have a skin of dirt and society treating them just as worse

But fear not

I know that you and I in this system were made to rot

Where everybody in the world trying to put us down like dogs with gunshots

Cause they know not of who we are

You see our ancestors came from a place very far

Where they used to be kings and queens that ruled in a palace

From Africa where our people were living lavish

There were trees and greenery the scenery was beautiful

I wish I could have seen it before the Euporeans sent my great-great-grandparents to an early funeral

For you see it was due to the European greed

That they started making slave ships that changed the course of history

So now in the present day, every African person is seen as a slave

You exclaim how am I seen as a slave

I am not like those brothers and sisters caught up in those chains

I have my rights and can say whatever I want to say

Yet why does it feel like I always have to refrain

I know I have the power to break from my restrains

Through intellect, hope, and courage

So one day I and the future generations will flourish

But until then

GANG GANG
