SLAM WOLF

You better howl if you wanna be heard, wolf,

Sing it even if it sounds absurd, wolf,

Change is everything—now watch her turn, wolf,

O’er the concrete forest watch the moon sojourn, wolf.

She changes as she dances in the night, wolf,

Spinning through the darkness and the light, wolf,

Calling you lovingly in her flight, wolf,

For she will never let you out of sight, wolf.

The trees and grass have all been paved away, wolf,

The sky is always smoggy, always gray, wolf,

Your heart is weary and your soul’s astray, wolf,

But she will always have you, come what may, wolf,.

For you’re a blessed creature, human and wolf,

Though you feel out-of-sync in asphalt lands, wolf,

Keep singing ‘til you break your diaphragm, wolf,

Keep singing ‘til you make them understand, wolf.

So though you’re far from home just sing your tune, wolf,

Honor her for she’s your mother moon, wolf,

She granted you this burden and this boon, wolf,

The magic from which you have been hewn, wolf.
