The Sky Looked Like This the Day You Left

The sky looked like this the day you left
How beautiful it was
I remember seeing those clouds
I had to stop and pause

The sky looked like this the day you left
And I remember telling my friend
How remarkable those colors were
As this day came to an end

The sky looked like this the day you left
There wasn't a flaw in it at all
Like God had used his paintbrush
To paint the lines in awe

The sky looked like this the day you left
The shades were all but meek
The pinks so delicate and pure
Just like your always rosy cheeks

The sky looked like this the day you left
And I remember looking up
To see those hand crafted clouds
They had to be from your touch

No one quite knows the feeling
Knowing you're not here
It's only explainable to the ones
That you drew most near

Every now and then I see those clouds
From the day you left
And I know deep in my heart
That right now you're truly blessed

You never need not worry
If he's near, far, or close
Because when you look up to the sky
And see those clouds from the day he left
Be reminded that his love for you still continues to flow
