Sky of Dreams

As I watch the darkness fill the vast sea
I feel the prick of winter on my bare arms
The cold is welcomed as it cools my beating soul
The stars are starting to fill the night sky
They cast a shadow on the brittle trees
The calm sea is calling my name as it hits the sand
The contentment I feel is irreplaceable
I lay back on the cool sand and gaze into the night sky
The stars are telling a story
Of every lost soul
That gave up
Returned to the sky of dreams
Dreams that were crushed
As I stare at all the lost stars
I find mine
Glowing with a soft sparkle
That is staring to fade
My star is leaving that world
To be returned to me
My soul
One with me again
