Sincerely To The Boys

I am so tired of losing my young black brothers.

And its starting to hurt worse cause if he aint in jail he's getting lifted into a hearse.

All because he had heart, passion, and he was on a mission.

But he never realized his potential, so he never gave up his dope boy ambitions.

He didn't realize there was another way.

Because of the hype of the street life it was his life he had to pay.

And i know his life was flashy and he seemed like he was winning,

But his greed and his ignorance is the same thing that ended it.

And my heart bleeds for his mama who has to bury her baby.

I close my eyes and pray maybe he'll come back.

Maybe just maybe.

But I know he won't.

Once you on this earth aint no guarantees cause when you leave you gone.

When I have a son and he's hurt, I'll say look me in my eyes and cry if you want.

Hold yo mama's hand.

Just cause I'm here for you don't make you less of a man.

I just want you to know that you are brilliant and I raised you with a plan.

Now I know yall tired of hearing these speeches cause it aint' nothin' but repetition,

But if we don't have yall backs, then yall feel like we aint listening.

But trust me when I say boys who take they time grow to be MEN worth mention.

I am so tired of losing my young black brothers.

And it hurts me to say that you don't care who you hurt, and you're submitting yourself to hell,

but I want yall to know yall were not born to fail.

And when times get hard don't reach for yo piece.

Pray to God, leave these streets and hope for some peace.

And while your here do you, and do what's right for you.

You are young strong black men and no one can take that from you.

I hope you believe this as much as I do because it's the truth.

Together I believe as a people we can make it.

Baby boy I know its hurting now but yo dreams don't gotta be put on hold.

Reach for the sky and take it.

Let go of this fast lane and take yo time.

Fight wit yo heart and think with your mind.

Some of you young black brothers need to take a step back and look at your time.

Yall need to do this thing right.

I'm talking about this thing called LIFE.
