Simply Me

Someone once told me you have to take care of yourself

And, I do, but after I take care of everyone else

I'm very appreciative of what I have

I'm doing fine without having too many people in my life

I'm living in a place where I am happy to be

I couldn't ask for anything more,

I'm fine with just being me.

I care for my friends and my family too

The ones who are there for me, no matter what I do

I couldn't ask for anything better

I'm happy where I'm at

It's better than where I was,

People stepping on me like I'm some kind of mat.

You can say what you want, but just listen to me

This might be a bit silly, but it describes me

You can see my smile from down the block

Thankfully my happiness has been unlocked
