The Similes of Life

Depression is like winter,

It numbs you from the inside out.

While happiness is like spring,

Comfortable and lively.

Depression is like drowning,

Inescapable and suffocating.

While happiness is like flying,

Easy and free of restraints.

Depression is like a black hole,

Sucking you in and blinding you.

While happiness is like a cloud,

Gentle and providing protection.

Depression is like being mute,

No one can hear what you can't say.

While happiness is like singing,

Everyone notices and listens.

Depression is like being constantly stationary,

Everyone around you moves on while you're stuck in one place.

While happiness is like riding a bicycle,

You can keep up, move ahead, or go at your own pace.
