Silver Lining for a Changing Time

Mon, 10/27/2014 - 20:41 -- jadd09

The sun that rises every morning day,

The light illuminates my precious way,

The tennis court becomes my second home,

Whether outside or in an indoor dome.

I play for joy, for love, for sport, for peace,

The peace which offers me so much release,

The drag of school a beast giving few times

For fun or anything worth more than dimes.

This sport is why I can but tolerate

The sadness of the death of summer, late

By this the hand of orange and yellow leaves,

This time when teachers again conceive

The lesson plans to hurt my brain inside,

But tennis brings me joy to hold aside.
