The thing that makes me flawless is my undying sense of hope,

my ability to find the silver lining in every starless sky. 

One of the most important things is hope.

Having hope that better days are soon to come 

and believing that even if the world gets turned upside down

and inside out, the sun will still rise tomorrow 

and the ocean won't swallow you whole. 

Without hope, people would have never been able to 

make it through the nineteen-thirties. 

Depression would have hollowed out a casket inside their bones

but instead they were able to dance and sing

and look forward to better days.

If it weren’t for hope, I would have been long gone by now.

I thank God everyday for blessing me and most of America with a sense of hope.

God only knows where we would all be without it
