The Silver Lining

Mon, 04/01/2019 - 18:14 -- KRoach

Just listen…

Listen to the sounds of nature…

If only I could have…

I remember being so young

All I wanted to do was stay in and play Sonic

I hated talking to people my age

It took me years to break my shell

I stayed quiet as long as I could

Then the greatest experience I could have had happened

It was tenth grade

The most advanced english and social studies class of my grade

Interdis, my two worst subjects for me and I was in it

To my surprise I did great and then

Silver Bay and Writer’s voice

We wrote poetry every single day

The Adirondack Mountains, the fresh air, the beautiful sunrise

I’ll never forget it

And it broke open my shell

I spoke with my classmates all the time

I never wanted that weekend to end

But as with every great experience it did

It changed me

Brought out my greatest

And I’m forever thankful
