A Silly Little Monster
A silly little monster
A harmless game
Child's play, really
Until it's turned around
And instead of having the upper-hand
You're stuck on the outside
Looking in.
But then he sprouts that goofy smile
The most heart melting sight
So contagious that it's warmth spreads throughout the entirety
Of your being.
You can't even manage an ounce of anger
At the fact that your little demon brother has locked you outside
On a hot, humid summer day
Because not long after, he let's you inside.
Jokingly, you chase him
Spewing empty, nonsense threats
"I'm gonna get you!
And when I do
I'm gonna nibble your toes off!"
The power of family
Of the innocence of a child
Is that power that opens our eyes and allows us to see
These silly little monsters
In our silly little lives
Are the silly little atoms
That make up everything
That is awesome
In this sometimes seemingly not-so-awesome world
