Silent Love

Sat, 11/17/2012 - 20:09 -- eliley

Neither here or there I question my existence.
In both the future and the past
Steadily losing my grasp on the present.
The wind blows and stirs my thoughts
Where has my heart gone?
It no longer shouts at me,
Truth be told it no longer whispers.
Lost, I am. I am Lost.
Head full of sorrow, my body of wants,
Will what I need ever find me?
I search the heavens for a star to guide me
Down into the depths of myself to unearth my needs
But they are lost.
The seeds that were planted were not deep enough
Carried away in the storm Washed up on some faraway shore
I imagine.
Listen to your heart they say.
Silence stabs away at my ears.
The beat I yearn for has flat lined
Replaced with the static in my head.
The silent treatment never did much for me
Only fueled more anger and confusion.
Speak to me, I beg for our sake.
Tell me your secrets I plead.
Beat again inside of this walking corpse
Breathe life into me again.

WOW! I cannot express how those 3 lines made me feel. You are gifted, no doubt. This is an INCREDIBLE poem and I really wish to see you more of your poems in the scholarship slams! :)
