Silence

Wed, 02/05/2020 - 22:02 -- Fuzzy

Crash went the books falling onto the unforgiving floor

Bang went the echo of laughter piercing my ears like bullets

Thump went the kid dropping to the floor like a defeated soul

Help him, do something,... silence

Boom went my heart pounding in my chest like a tiger trying to get free

Whip went my head searching for a teacher, any teacher...

Ring went the bell signaling tardiness for those who’ve not made it

Silence of the watchers and myself waiting ... watching

Help he mouthed

Begged

Pleaded

Silence

What am I doing? Help him!

Snap went my heart

Crack went my body dropping down to help the boy

Spark went the electricity of the eyes of the watchers boring into my back

Gasp went the boy when he saw that I was helping him

Roar went my voice ordering the bullies to, “STOP!”

Silence will not stop me from doing the right thing.

And neither should you

Uncover the courage from inside of you to stop bullying!
