Shut Up

Do you realize the things you say?

Do you know the memories won't ever go away?

What would I remember

If you died today?

You think the little words don't matter

Or a slap in the face after

I'll shut my mouth, then,

Like I was told to

And not speak of the morals

We don't ever hold to

Someday you'll wonder why

I don't talk to you

(well, it's because you told me not to)

I forgot, I'm not supposed to

Be upset

That would be stupid

"Stop whining," you'd say

So you won't read this

And you'll never recognize

That I feel this

I think this is true of many people, and not just (parents, lovers). Keep strong.
