I used to write poetry

and then I stopped

why?

I don't really need it anymore

 

Kind of like how you stop

taking a medicine

after you heal the sickness

(the illnesses within)

 

So excuse me if I'm a little rusty

But I just read the funniest poem

and I was thinking

Maybe poetry doesn't have to be a tool

for the darkest part of me

(a part of me I haven't seen,

thank G-d.

In ages)

 

So I'm gonna start over

and use words

Just words

To talk talk talk

and maybe in the long run

I'll say something

that means something to someone

 

Can poetry be fun?
