Shells

Wearing
Hijabs and hoodies could get you killed
Quicker than overdosing on prescription pills

Wearing
Your skin a certain color whose past has been built
Makes your love double guessed and calls your charity “guilt”

Wearing
Your artwork over flesh where everyone can see
will scare away the people from your destiny

Wearing
Tailored suits and shiny shoes
places blood prints and loud cries all over you

Wearing
Your real hair down to the roots of your nature's valley
Will call out the uglies and the bugs like alleys

Wearing
Shiny shit and hooped earhole pluggers
Confuses them with, come get me, I’m available, why don’t we “struggle snuggle”

Wearing,
Anything you can
You do or don’t choose
Will always make life
So very difficult for you
