She Walks the Halls

Tue, 09/17/2013 - 16:59 -- JayEmm

Everyday she walks the halls

Surrounded by her peers.

Every night when she gets home,

She drowns herself in tears.

She’s envied by the girls,

She’s wanted by the guys,

She’s hated by herself,

Her life is full of lies.

Other’s think she’s got it great,

She’s got an ideal life.

They don’t know that every night

She goes and grabs her knife.

Her bracelets and long jeans

Hide what she does at night.

They think it’s just her style,

She let’s them think they’re right.

Every night she eases pain

By tightening her fist.

She watches troubles drip away

Like raindrops from her wrist.

No one knows her secrets.

They don’t know what she hides.

They only see her through the day –

They see her better side.

Everyday she walks the halls

As she glows with radiant hues.

They stare with admiration.

They wish they were in her shoes.

But they don’t see the life within –

The life she’d rather end.

As she walks, she feels alone.

Her shadow’s her best friend.
