she is plastic

Location

she was tangled

among branches

and intertwined

and punctured

she was weak

and flimsy

blowing along the gutter

trapped under a tire

stored within herself

under kitchen cabinets

holding the waste

of man's best friend

I see her dotting

the tree-sea if Sixth Street

the hill: littered with logos

from supermarkets

and dollarstores

she is thrown from car windows

when no longer needed

she wants to be abolished

replaced

with cottons

and linens:

sturdy and reusable

they are her idols

she understands her destruction

to Mother Earth

and she is conscious

of her plastic bag body

and red-ink labels

thankyouthankyouthankyou

she wants to be replaced

not reproducted
