She is Her Curtain

She hid

She hid oh so well

Behind her curtain

A curtain made from her favorites;

Books, Band, Friends, Happiness

She does not always read books,

She is not always doing something band related,

She is not always talking or sure of her friends,

And she is not always happy.

Behind her curtain she is:

Shy, Scared, Unhappy, Unsure.

Shy in that she is unsure of new people,

Scared she will be wrong and fail,

Unhappy because she does not think she is good enough,

And mostly unsure of herself.

She does know,

Even though she sometimes hid,

She should never throw away her curtain.

Her curtain is part of her,

She would not, could not,

Toss her curtain,

For if she did,

She would not be the same person

She knew herself to be.
