She

She was living in a mirage
In their desert of solitude
No way to quench her thirst for a happy home

In reality she was alone

A little birdie locked in her cage
Strong vocals but couldn’t sing her song
This is wrong

Her whole life she lived in fear
How could she tell her mother that daddy touched her there

But mommy already knew

What could her mommy do?
Her mother wasn’t strong enough of a woman to protect her so she let her husband do what he do

This world of abuse

Silent cries
And loud blades
She hides her body in shame
She feels she is to blame
No where to escape
Her world IS RAPE

She tells me this is her fate

Nah
This ain’t right
Telling her it’s okay to fight
FIGHT
FIGHT
FIGHT
She was fighting
She fought
Distraught
She told me
“Tim the world is ugly
To the blind eye it can be lovely
I break down every night because
I can’t hold it
At this point there’s no consoling
My wounds are open
And there’s no closin’”
It left me hopin’
It left me wishin’
It left me prayin’
That one day she’ll see the light
Lord give her might
To dodge her fathers smite
End her pain
I know we all feel her pain

After this we know she won’t be the same

She won’t know love

She is terrified to hug
She just wants to smile and throw the dirt under the rug
But it’s eating her inside
This is more than pride
She trusts no one to confide
And with situations like this it pisses me off because all we do is curl up and hide
How is it that we find a way to ignore this?
Turn to the blind eye

Hoping that the problem will fade

This is more than just finding comforting words
And saying everything will be okay
And There’s a new day
And Hoping this will go away
And praying that they have nothing more to say

And what kills me is that she has so much soul
So much soul but no one will ever know
Because she feels she is incapable to grow
She’s my friend and I can’t let go
I can’t let go
I can’t let go
If she needs me to fight for her I’ll be happy to throw the first blow
Just know
Our friendship isn’t in vain
But all she wants is from me is to pray

And I do so everyday

But I wont be satistied until she has found the strength to fly away
