Shattered Lights

My enormous amount of energy I use,
Use to light their paths always goes unoticed,
Unoticed and unappreciated.
Each day that passes by,
By the window I burn brightly,
Brightly and scorching hot.
It gets hotter,
Hotter with each new time I'm used.
Used like a tool for their selfish gain,
Gain I could never achieve.
Achieve greatness with the thought,
Thoughts that make you dimmer.
Dimmer than the dark room that surrounds you.
You burn stronger,
Stronger in the attempt to win,
Win the battle and burn hotter.
Hotter till you explode with disgust,
Disgust at the world around you.
You were only a pawn in their useless desires.
Desires you could never have.
