Shattered Glass

Crumpled napkin promises left on the floorStanding there you're left wanting moreDon't you know that I've been here before? But nothing makes it better, only worseAnd on the rack lies your empty purseIt makes you feel you're living a curse And the vacant bed means he's gone againAnd all over you feel only painWhat can take the edge off again? Forbidden paramours sneak out at nightIn the skin they twist and then they biteAnd you finally give into the fight Sick and drenched you begin to cryAnd now all you want to do is dieBut you can only shudder a sigh Once again, you pick up the partsOf yourself and now you call it artAnd all that's left is your broken heart And you know he's back and cares this timeAnd the pain has stopped again this timeSo just let the love heal you this time
