In the shadows

2 Peter 2:7-8 New English Translation (NET Bible)

and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man in anguish over the debauched lifestyle of lawless men,

8 (for while he lived among them day after day, that righteous man was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard

In the shadows

I am waiting in the shadows cast by the law of man

It is here to break me from the creature that I am

Time has no importance as defeat captured and ran

With my hope of freedom far away from fellowman

Cornered and defeated but my spirit cannot die

It is empowered from above as I just wonder “Why”

Oh the hand that lifts me and that makes me fly

as high as an eagle to observe myself cry

Maybe after all really no bars can hold me

Wherever I appear death will have to move aside

Judges in black robes cannot even scare me

as their hearts of stone will scatter somewhere in time
