A Shadow Wall

Why can I not see the love inside myself?

My wall which remains opaque shall not die.

The world around me views the wall I build;

A mighty fortress of great solitude.

But only the ones who I deem worthy

Can gaze inside  the lonely walls of me.

For in the great and glorious walls of old

Wonder and intrigue are held estranged,

Away from the master’s great and tall throne.

They cannot reach the gate to save us

From the shadows of the unknowing;

Boredom lies inside the gate of stone

Which keeps the master from his love sublime.

His love shall wander ‘round the gate and search,

For only the ones who are deemed worthy

Shall see the inside of the the master’s beast;

A terrible and shameful sight which brings

Much grief and dread to all who here enter.
