Seven Lovely Fins

Bring him a tissue, news is hard to bear,

O the poor young man! One lost family friend.

Heaven took an angel and left a snail,

Lovely vocals he sang, and produced more than

The slug whose songs haven't yet a name.

Summoned brightest smiles upon darkest days

O the other never witnessed the light!

God, give me the dagger, not him, he thought.

But the tank illuminated his mood.

Six peaceful fish his own he sat and watched.

Peck, nibble, chase, first two fish played and played.

And with this he thought how awesome friends are.

Best friends, guys and gals, loved from the very start.

A city apart! But always together.

Comrades and folks, to those he owes his heart.

Munch, munch, chomp, chomp, the third fish ate and ate.

And with this he thought how awesome food is.

Each meal a blessing, three gifts in one day!

Unwrap it with joy, devour it with pride.

T'is the hour of noon, well whaddya say?

Snooze, snooze, and snooze, the fourth fish slept and slept.

And with this he thought how awesome home is.

"Welcome back home, son. Tired? Just go to sleep."

"The rain! How serene it sounds on our roof."

"Now who wants homemade coffee and tea?"

Mark, set, go! Fifth and sixth fish raced and raced.

And with this he thought how awesome limbs are.

Run, boy! Hike, bike, do as the two legs please!

Name a destination, and let the feet speak.

Hands? Arms? There is much more than just the knees!

Bring him a tissue, light has found its day.

For his tears are different from before.

A smile slowly crept his red, red face.

What's this? A forgotten gem swims about.

In the corner is a wee little fry.

Half and half the size, youth is what it brings.

Full life ahead, no need to call it quits.

"Just keep swimming, just keep swimming" Dory says.

Blub, blub, blub, the seventh fish breathed and breathed.

And with this he thought how awesome life is.
