(poems go herSometimes,
Setting the world on fire
Is the only option.
Watching the blaze—
Of the people who don’t deserve it,
Deserve to be breathing.
They perish,
In the blaze to the world.
They have left scars.
They have caused pain.
As that fire burns,
And I watch it burn,
I step into it.
Letting the fire seer my skin.
Letting it lick my face.
I look around,
I see faces,
Faces of the people I love,
They aren’t burning in the fire,
No one is.
Just me.
I have put too many people through pain,
I have left too many people with scars,
Including myself.
As I fall to the ground,
Letting myself burn,
Wanting to scream,
But the smoke fills my lungs.
Wanting to cry,
But the heat sucks the tears out of my eyes.
Wanting to run,
But my legs feel like Jell-O.
Wanting to ask,
Ask for forgiveness,
But my voice is gone,
My voice has been sucked out of my body.
I am just a limp body,
Laying on the ground.
Scared,
In pain,
Wanting to change,
For the world.
Even though I,
Set the world on fire.
