You tell yourself that you need time alone, to focus on you and better yourself.

You guard your heart and swear that you won't love until you're ready.

Then someone comes along and you tell yourself not to get close, to hold off and take your time.

And you realize that isn't possible.

Because everything you thought you would never have lives in their soul.

They dig their fingertips into your heart and make you bleed gold.

You don't want to tell anyone because you don't want to seem foolish.

But God, it feels good to be a fool.

And if I'm a fool for falling for you, then a fool I will gladly be.

I had so many plans and reasons to stay out of love.

But you changed that.

God, did you change that all.
