Separation

Matthew 8:22

22 But Jesus said to him, “Follow me,

and let the dead bury their own dead.”

Separation

The inner man cannot be hid,

he just gets covered up.

With layer after layer of

of filth, dirt and slime.

Hardened in time and space

through heat, cold and weather,

cracked here and there

but polished like a dime.

By looking at the outer man,

you’ll never know the inner.

The outer is quite noisy,

the inner seldom heard.

For the outer I am known,

the inner vague as mystery.

The problem most of the time

is that the outer is like dirt.

As strangers in the night

the two will pass another.

Not recognizing each other,

there is no common ground.

One will be in forever

and one is dead already

One goes to the hereafter

and one into the ground.
