Selfish

Location

People need help everyday,
and it never comes.
Millions are starving
but we do not hear their cries.
Instead
we are concerned with our hair and our clothes.
Apparently, the loudest messages come through whispers.
It is the end of the world when our waiter brings the wrong food
but some people would just be overjoyed with clean water.
We are so wrapped up in our selfish lives
we do not see past our four yellow walls.
We do not see the world that is filled with
poverty
racism
and chaos.
We need help helping others
otherwise we will never break this unending cycle.
