Self-Harm Artist

Tue, 02/19/2019 - 13:05 -- JohnIYL

While it's easier to cut butter

I'd rather slice open my arm

Because the pain is like no other

and it lessens my alarm.

And when the doctor finds the marks,

I'll just say I fell in the dark.

I don't want you to see my pain;

it's hard enough for me to do.

And if I ever start to hurt again,

I promise I'll keep it from you.

Because I know when you gaze upon

These scars I've hand-carved,

You'll wish you hadn't known

About the self-harm artist that isn't starved.
