Self-conscious

1 Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is patient, love is kind, it is not envious. Love does not brag, it is not puffed up. 5 It is not rude, it is not self-serving, it is not easily angered or resentful. 6 It is not glad about injustice, but rejoices in the truth. 7 It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

The music coming across a bit too loud to soothe emotions

We cannot drown feelings or stop the flow of sorrow.

There is a time for everything in life’s own devotion

and even so appealing today won’t postpone tomorrow.

Why kill the pain of love and try to please the flesh?

Whatever is spiritual ... cannot be caught by us

Only from above ... the flow of Holiness

in a solemn ritual ... for Christ loves as thus.

Love cannot be captured or formed into our liking.

It is there as a sacrifice ... precluded in destiny.

Only to be embraced ... as a gift of our King

to continually patronize ... the hungry and the free.
