self♥love

the geography of her hand wasn’t for his to hold

yet he held it anyway

his melody wasn’t written for her to sing

yet she learned it anyway

people speak of love as if it’s the cure for lonely days

but it is not

sometimes its the beginning of a realization

that only you can love yourself best

you have to love yourself first to understand the value of

someone else’s love

otherwise we end up storing what we would like to believe are jewels in others

when in reality its only lumps of coal

the geography of her hand wasn’t for his to hold and his melody wasn’t written for her to sing, yet they did it anyway

have that same courage,

that same sheer insanity to believe that you could love yourself just as much and even more than others ever could
