Seeking Captivity

Location

Shutters forced open

To the vast unknown

By a pair of outspread wings.

She shimmers in the night

In all her breathtaking glory

Racing away from her only comfort.

She won’t come back,

Tired of the genuine,

She seeks the distortional.

Finding what her body seeks

She catches in their deadly trap,

Their shutters locked tight behind her.

She doesn’t notice their wicked smiles

Their evil intentions,

Their greed for her life.

She has come to rest

Before her deadly fate,

Ignoring her dying self.

She doesn’t even notice

The latch on the window.

No, she doesn’t even notice

The call of her past.

No, she doesn’t even notice

The distortion she presides in.
