See Me

I turn heads easily, that is nothing new.

Ive heard all the lines, some old and some new.

But they see curves, which dont last.

They see clothes, but trends past.

They see long hair easily bought,

They seek things easily sought.

They dont want me, they want an image, like so many others.

And when that image passes they will seek another.

Why waste his and my time?

God gave you eyesight, so how could you be so blind?

I want you to see me.

I dont want you to tell me how pretty I look,

thats just a page in my complicated book.

I WANT YOU TO SEE ME.

Im more than I am, motivated by emotions,

my eyes speak things my mouth leaves unspoken.

Im a genius and a pain,

half shy and half vain.

Im head strong and gullible, Im a walking enigma,

i do what feels right, never giving into stigmas.

Im a best friend who has enemies,

I seek truth and pick up pennies.

I can play the fool, but be prudent.

I'm a mom, and Im a student.

I WANT YOU TO SEE ME.

dont mention my ass, dont compliment my lips.

I dont give a damn what you think of my hips.

DONT YOU SEE ME?

Im a writer with too much pride.

I speak truths and wink lies.

WHY CANT YOU SEE ME?

Im a talented procrastinator,

an arachnophobic bug eliminator,

sometimes i think too late and speak too soon,

theres more holes in my life than craters on the moon.

SEE ME.

Ive experienced joy. Ive been through hell,

I never whisper, always yell.

SEE ME.

LOOK AT ME. use more than your eyes,

they only see the physical, which easily lie.

SEE ME.

I've experienced loss, now a woman from a girl,

Me and my god brought a life into this world.

SEE ME.

Is there someone out there, with better sight than these men?

Maybe, but I cant see him.
