Seasons of the Earth

the Earth once asked its lover

what are humans made of?

same as you

replied the Girl

explain

said the Earth

i have iron in my blood,

oxygen in my lungs,

and salt in my tears,

the same that dwells in your core,

hovers in your atmosphere,

and flows in your oceans

when i am gone i will still be here,

inhabiting the soil, air, and streams

The Earth pulled its lover closer

why must you leave me

murmured the Earth

i will always be with you

whispered the Girl
