Search for a Cure

Dear World,

You looked at her and began to judge, as if being some cut above

It's far too easy to judge a being without a deeper seeing

The lady that you'relooking at is amongst her own combat

You see she's always seen herself as a failure in and of itself

To her, self-esteem belongs to an unfulfilled dream

She spent her years as a child, constantly being reviled

And unfortunately these memories have become an infectious disease

Words were used with such disregard, her heart will be forever scarred

Now would it be that vile if you were to flash her a smile

The slightest gesture could be profound, having turned her day around

Simply boosting her confidence would have no bad consequence

And if only the world could see the potential it has to be

An all-inclusive place one could live without disgrace

But for the world to be changed, the negative must be exchanged

With love and optimism, Amanda
