In search of

Jeremiah 8:7 New English Translation (NET Bible)

7 Even the stork knows

when it is time to move on.

The turtledove, swallow, and crane

recognize the normal times for their migration.

But my people pay no attention

to what I, the Lord, require of them.

Migration is in full swing, all in search of the better

Who will sign the paper of the certificate called: “death.

Life is just a moment and a speck in the temporal.

A breath, a sigh, a tear, and then there’s little left.

A struggle for a minute to be added before the last breath

If I can make this work, then all will be complete

Oh! This ravening blindness that seems to cover all flesh

Maybe in many ways, we are copies of the same defeat

Searching for all the answers in this decaying carcass

Hoping to find the means to an everlasting existence

Complementing one another as this seems bizarre

Now we leave life clueless in our misguided persistence.
