the sea was on fire

Location

The sea was on fire.

A candle burns in the waves.

A match, no, a thousand matches fall from the sky into the surf.

The surf rises to catch them; to extinguish the flame.

The flame of perception rebukes the sea, casting it downtrodden into its lonely sea caves.

The sea spits at the flame as it matures into a fire.

Plumes of grey smoke; clouds; rise into the sizzling atmosphere.

The fire tarnished the sea; left it burnt, destroyed.

Waves flopped emotionless around the inferno.

It could not be halted; it would not relent.

The sea was on fire.
